How to use it

  1. In the iCan app, export / share your data. You get an .xls file.
  2. In the share sheet, pick Sync iCan to Apple Health.
  3. The first time, allow access to Apple Health.
  4. Wait for it to finish. Readings appear in Health → Blood Glucose.

The first run imports the whole export, which can take a few minutes for hundreds of readings. After that only readings newer than the latest one in Health come in.

“I read that this is impossible”

Forum answers often say the iCan app has no HealthKit support and no export, and that the only route is an Android phone running xDrip+ or Juggluco feeding Nightscout, plus a native iOS app.

That is out of date. The iCan app's share button exports an .xls file, and Apple's own Shortcuts app can write to Apple Health. The one missing piece was reading that .xls, and that is what this shortcut does.

FAQ

Does the iCan CGM app sync with Apple Health?

Not by itself, but it can export your readings as an .xls file. This shortcut reads that file and logs each reading into Apple Health with its real measurement time.

Do I need Android, xDrip+, Juggluco or Nightscout?

No. You need an iPhone, the iCan app and Apple's built-in Shortcuts app.

Does it work with iCan i3, i6 and Sibionics?

Yes, with exports from the Thai-language iCan app, in both the original format and the one introduced in its September 2026 update.

Will syncing again create duplicate readings?

No. The shortcut asks Apple Health for its newest glucose reading first and only imports readings taken after it.

Where is my glucose data stored?

Only in Apple Health on your iPhone. The export is sent to a converter that returns the readings and keeps nothing: no database, no accounts.
